Welcome to Merchant Camps and Lodge bear hunting, your go-to resource for outdoor adventure. Our team of expert guides will take you on a bear hunt through the most beautiful and wild areas of Maine.

Our team prepares all our sites weeks in advance to have the best chance for a successful experience. In operation since 1998, countless memories have been made by people all across the USA who have chosen Merchant Camps and Lodge, many of whom come back every year. We hope to make some memories with you!

What to expect:

Sunday arrival mid-day, dinner provided that evening. Monday through Friday, we enjoy a home cooked breakfast from our commercial kitchen and on staff cooks. The rest of the morning is your time for relaxing, socializing or exploring the area. We eat a prepared lunch just prior to leaving for our afternoon hunt. All our bear hunts are in the afternoon for the last few hours of the day. When we return to the lodge after dark, we will be greeted with a warm home cooked meal. We then provide a Saturday breakfast prior to departure.

Typical Hunt:

After lunch, we do not provide transportation to the hunting site, so you will be escorted to the Maine Northwoods Six Mile Gate by one of our guides. (Gate fees required for entry, gate fees not included in hunt) The guide will bring everyone to prepared sites for the evening hunt. Our guide(s) will be waiting close by and if successful our guide will respond to the site to assist in collection of your harvest. As the sun goes down all hunters will be picked up by our guide, to then exit the woods and return to our facility for a nice warm meal.
